Perfectly Ed. My apologies, I did not realize that my message was confusing.

Re: F1+LM and F1+HP

according Alexander Steenbeck, 6 planes of II/KG26 and 2 of III/KG26 were lost on that date, shot down by Mosquitoes, while trying to attack a convoy on the east coast of Scotland. Langendorf's crew is listed in the losses of II/K.G.26.

II/KG 26 21 April 45 was "Nordsee massacre"

"The last large Torpedo Bomber mission was flown on 21.04.1945 when force of eighteen (ten Ju 88, eight Ju 188) torpedo bombers were decimated at sea off south-west of Norway (POS 5120N/0300E ~ PLQ 05öst/3857). Nine were claimed by (42) Mosquitoes of the Banff Strike Wing (i.e. 144, 235 and 238 SQ) in addition to four Norwegian manned Mosquitoes of 333 SQ, when they were returning from strike on Danish Airfields. Two of them are reported to have returned, only to bellyland in Norway. (Actually II/KG 26 lost six Ju 88 A-17 machines and III/KG 26 losing one or two Ju 188 A-3). They had all flown from Stavanger/Sola and were after any Allied convoy or ships off Scotland, in area north of Peterhead." (my manuscript)

Severe overclaiming.

From my own "Kampfflieger Vol. 4" (Classic Publications, 2005):
[Mosquitoes encountered] 18 Ju 88s and Ju 188s of II. and III./KG 26 on an armed reconnaissance to the coast of Scotland, claiming nine shot down in the ensuing, unequal action. German sources suggest that only six Ju 88s were in fact lost but that four others were damaged. Two Mosquitoes were claimed although none was lost.
I can't remember now what specific sources I was referring to.

Re: F1+LM and F1+HP

Hello,

I have finally found them :

for F1+HP :
Uffz Willi Ommer Pilot dead
Uffz Gerhard Drössler Observer POW
Uffz Hans Neef Radio POW
Uffz Günther Gleixner POW

for F1+LM :
Uffz Karl Kermayer Pilot dead
Uffz Kurt Prengel observer dead
Uffz Hans Ranat radio POW

but there is one more question : was a fouth crew member present aboard
F1+LM ? And if so, can someone identify him ?

Thanks in advance

Claude

Re: F1+LM and F1+HP

Hello,

it seems I made a mistake :

for F1+HP :
Uffz Karl Kermayer Pilot dead
Uffz Kurt Prengel observer dead
Uffz Hans Ranat radio POW

for F1+LM :
Uffz Willi Ommer Pilot dead
Uffz Gerhard Drössler Observer POW
Uffz Hans Neef Radio POW
Uffz Günther Gleixner POW

So my question is : was a fouth crew member present aboard
F1+HP ? And if so, can someone identify him ?

All my apologies for my mistake !

Claude
