Hello/Bonjour,
I am looking for details about activities of II./JG 53 on March 4, 1944. Details about its mission(s) and its claim(s) of that day which has seen the first daylight bombing of Berlin by a few heavies of the 8th AF. I thank you beforehand for your assistance. Best regards, Frederic |

Re: II./JG 53 – March 4, 1944
Hello Rene,
Merci beaucoup for these informations about losses and claims of the Gruppe. But could you provide me more details? The circumstances for example... Thinking back, is there something in the Jochen Prien book about the Pik As history? Regards, Frederic |

Re: II./JG 53 – March 4, 1944
Frédéric,
yes I think you will find more details in the book of Prien. I don't have this book. According to the claim list of Tony Wood, Ofw. Ehrenberger and Lt. Passhaus claimed everybody a B-17 and Lt. Schmiedel a P-51. Rgds, René |

Hello to both of you and thanks a lot for these additional details about II./JG 53 actions that day. I tend to agree with Jochen Prien's text regarding Lt. Schmiedel first claim.
