Hello,
From what I have been given to understand these three airmen were not identified as escaped Pow's but as recently downed airmen. But as you say it is a possibility to be addressed. Apart from Italian, German American and British Commonwealth airmen what other nationals were in action over northern Italy in September 1944 ? Alex
