Just a comment - it's clear he crash landed on land, so why is he a Runnymede commemoration? Even if dead in the cockpit, I'd have expected a known burial?

Spitfire W3208 was piloted by P/O Skinner - there is more info about this pilot: http://www.bbm.org.uk/airmen/SkinnerWM.htm On this link, http://aircrewremembered.com/carter-leslie.html , there is another Spitfire shot downed in same engagement and there is notice about Spit W3208 Faenor
