Re: Question about the FockeWulf series

Baroness,
Take a look at this site. http://www.fourthfightergroup.com/eagles/spittest.html Although primarily dedicated to all marques of Spitfire, there is information regarding the FW 190 and the Bf 109. http://www.spitfireperformance.com/f...190d9test.html
I had the great pleasure of speaking to Eric "Winkle" Brown, the test pilot, at Duxford this year. He has flown 487 different types, not counting sub-types. In other words, although he flew many different marques of Spitfire, this is counted as only one type. Because he spoke German, he was asked to fly and evaluate many German types and has written a book entitled "Wings of the Luftwaffe", ISBN 1-85310-413-2
When I asked him about the 190, his face lit up and he said that the 190D was the best fighter of the war with the Spit Mk.XIV a very close second and the P-51 a distant third. Although many factors must be considered when naming "Best Fighter", his position is that, at the moment of engagment, if he had a choice, he'd rather be in a Dora.

These reports are excerpts from the reports created by the Air Fighting Development Unit at Duxford.
Hope these help.
Do you fly online? If so, what is your callsign and which server do you fly on?
Cheers,
T-6
