In Prien et al., "Die Jadgfliegerverbaende ..." lists Hoeler with 14 claims, only one on 18.08.41.

Re: English Airmen POW's + No. 239 (AC) Squadron
Hello You all,
thanks a lot for your interest. The figure I have here on Höhler's claims are 14 Spitfires. I have another question: I recently found an interesting photo showing the Mustang HB-A Mk. I s/n AH565 from No. 239 (AC) Squadron lost on the 21st of July 1942 after being shot down by a JG 2 pilot (Hptm. Bolz). Any idea of the name of this pilot, and his fate? Thanks Erik |

Re: English Airmen POW's
Hello Eric
This airplane was the Mustang MkI AG565 HB-A loss the 21st July 1942 at Norville (F76330) 30KM W of Rouen, he was shot down probably by the Stab II./JG 2 Oblt Bolz The pilot of this airplane must be the F/Lt Veal, most probably POW The 239th was an Army co-operation unit Regards Phil |

Re: English Airmen POW's
I doubt if Poles would have allowed themselves to be treated in such a "chummy" fashion or looked so happy! Probably rules them out.
