Lt Wilhelm Messner also got the EP on 8 Dec 41 and have you seen Larry and Doug's site which says:

(DKG). 30.09.37 entered Austrian military service as a volunteer. 13.(15.?).01.40 assigned to 1.(H)/Aufkl.Gr. 12 (to 29.04.43) as a pilot.In addition to flying, he also served as the Staffel Tech. Offz. at various times. 01.12.39 promo to Lt.(Kr.O.), Aufkl.Fl.Schule Grossenhain. 01.11.41 promo to Oblt. 08.12.41 awarded the Ehrenpokal.03.10.42 awarded DKG, Stab/NAGr. 15. 30.04.43 Oblt. in NAGr. 4, appt Staka 4./NAG 102 (to10.07.44). 18.06.44 appt Staka 2./NAGr. 13 (to 08.05.45). 23.09.44 had flown 147 operationalsorties by this date. 01.11.44 promo to Hptm. 11.10.57 applied for service in the Bundeswehr
