Hello Sven,
Yes, III./JG76 was in Stade from 24 July until 20 August 1944 where they did there conversion training to single-engine fighters from flying Bf110s as II./ZG1. They moved to Athis, France on 21 August 1944. There is an excellent article on the history of III.JG/76, including photos, that was published in the May 1991 issue of a German magazine called "Jet & Prop". The article is entitled "Die Geschichte einer Zerstorergruppe und das Schicksal von Friedrich Muer". Regards, Gary Koch |
