Re: JG 51 victories (Part 2)
Hi All,
Between late 1941 and end July 1942 1./JG 51 had listed by date and time some 90 claims in the Ubersicht listings for which there are no known names. Some can be filled in for von Fassong and Laskowski because various confirmation slips have been published, but of the 85 plus claims remaining with unknown names most went to Hofemeier who was in 1 Staffel to early 1943? and Thiel, so there is no reason to doubt the 96 total for Hofemeier as 28 of his claims are probably during this period (No 26 to 55 inclusive, excluding a Pe 2 on 3 June 42.) All explained in the relevant Prien volume. Regards Russell
