Hello Mikkel,
the JG 77 chronicle Vol. 3 and the JFV Vol. 11/II say that parts of the III./JG 77 flew an escort mission for Ju 87s in the area Medjez-el-Bab where they encountered a formation of Spitfires. Apart from the victory of Ofw Hackler (8./JG 77) was the loss of Ofw Wilhelm Baumgartner (7./JG 77) who was shot down by a Spitfire 2 km south of Sedjoum. He flew the Bf 109 G-2 trop WNr. 13996, white 10. Regards Leo
