Thanks for the good resolution photo Léo...
Just want to add that Kaberov flew to cover Leningrad area from 1941 to 1943, that he probably saw the German pilot describing him as a young, average height, brown haired man and that his version is actually what had been said by the German pilot through the help from an interpreter. At this time Kaberov was a LaGG 3 pilot inside the 3rd Guard Fighter Regiment from the Baltic Fleet and as he had the pleasure to sat inside this Fw 190, he found the field of vision rather limited when the hood is closed. I presume to cut all the blades from it's propeller with it's own guns must be something pretty rare? Olivier |
