The aircraft was hit at about 10:00 hrs straffing gun-positions near P-6173. The pilot, 1st Lt. Arthur B. Sheldon Jr., 0-811967, 514th FS went in with his plane after a flak-hit at the position, he attacked. He was KIA. Source: OPREP A NO.
