Scala Staff Sergeant, U.S. Army Air Forces Service # 32389401 16th Squadron, 68th Reconnaissance Group Entered the Service from: New Jersey Died: 6-Dec-43 Buried at: Plot C Row 30 Grave 83 Lorraine American Cemetery St. Avold, France Awards: Purple Heart The only other service man with similar name I can find is PFC John P Scala 32848811 but I can't see what date he was killed, what unit. His remains were returned for burial in New York so he is not listed on the ABMC site as above. NARA records from www.wwiimemorial.com show both men KIA. |
