check public record office in Kew. I think that they have a report about the bombing of the factory. the report is from 1945 and contains pictures from the ground. Good luck with your research

Re: Researching Gerhard Fieseler Werke III in Kassel

Thanks for the tips. I just sent them a email, and hope they have some pictures. I have nothing but good memories of my 3 years in Kassel. I was assigned at Rothwseten, but worked at Waldau as a Mechanic. I do not know of any of the guys that were there, that did not enjoy there time in Kassel. I have been working on a web page about my time in the Army, and have a section on Kassel/Waldau.

Do they still sell beer in the Flip Top bottles?

When I shipped my car home from Germany, I put 2 cases of beer in the trunk. When I picked in up in NJ, they were all empty, but had a thank you note in the case.

Re: Researching Gerhard Fieseler Werke III in Kassel

Thanks. It has been a slow project, started when my Grandson asked me where I was stationed in the Army. I was at so many places over a 22 year time frame, I had trouble remembering when I was at some. He asked if I could make a simple web page, and add some pictures of the places, if I had any. Well, it has grown much bigger than planed, but I get pictures from guys that were at the same places, and add to it all the time.

It keeps my brain working any way. Between it, any my 2 hobbies of Ham Radio, and building Hot Rods, I am never bored.

Thanks Again,
Bruce
