Luftwaffe ground organisation
Hi there,
I am as new as can be as it comes to the Luftwaffe organization. In a few months I will go to the BA-MA in Freiburg to search for a lot of things, including information on the topic how a generic Luftflotte was organised. Yes, a generic Luftflotte. I am not interested in results of how many planes were shot down here and how this pilot acted there, I am only interested in the theoretical organisation. How was an airfield organised? How were they supplied? How did a generic Luftnachrichten-Regiment look like (as in how many companies and independent platoons of what kind). Et cetera, et cetera ![]() In a list that has been send to me I can find several different Fliegerhorstkommandanturen and Flugplatzkommandos. What's the difference? I have heard that I should look in the RL 2 III folder. Well, that's a big folder. What I am after are GLiederungen. Orders of Battle. If possible from 1944. Who can help me with that? Who can guide me to the correct Bundesarchiv files? Thanks a lot in advance, Piet Duits |
