German bomber loss , 12/13 June 1944
Hello folks ,
A French gendarmerie report states about that crash at 2 am at Rouville ( near Bolbec ) Normandy . No casualties but the bomber went down with its bomb load , and strangely it was described as a three engined plane . Could anyone identify this one , could it be a He 177 ? Laurent.

Laurent: An accurate ac type might help but there were so many losses without accurate locations at that time. There were 2 He 177 losses that night but no locations given

Thanks Chris , I know the problem with such losses and crash location . There are many open files on that subject.

Possibly P/O Kearney's victim? He got his He 177 approx. 0130 near Charlie (I do not know where it is) area. The aircraft got ablazed and violently exploded. Cheers

Forgot about this one. All the crew from this ac baled out unwounded hence no loss report. It was from II/KG 40 but I have no crash location

I think it is reference to Charlie sector or square rather than particular village in France.
