JG 54 loss, 23 January 1944
Hello,
According to the JG 54 loss list by Günther Rosipal, on 23 January 1944 Gefr. Franz Brüggemeier of 4.(Jabo)/JG 54 was wounded and his Bf 109 G-6 damaged beyond repair (at 80%) at Solzy. The last place is the German writing for Soltsy, in Novgorod oblast. The WNr or code of the Bf 109 are not given by this source. The problem is that the Luftwaffe losses summary show no loss at all for JG 54 this day. So I suspect that if Brüggemeier was wounded this day, he managed to bring back his aircraft with few/no damage. Can someone add something to this case to confirm or infirm the loss of the aircraft ? Thanks in advance Laurent |
