Information concerning loss of Uffz. Heinz Stanglmayr - lost 28.07.1944
Hi,
Can anyone provide information on the loss of Uffz. Heinz Stanglmayr who was killed in an air battle over Estland on the 28th July 1944? Many thanks Rick

1944-07-28, 4./JG 54, Fw 190 A-8, 170957, 12 weiße, 15 km nordöstlich Wesenberg, Absturz in See um 04.40 Uhr nach Luftkampf mit Jak-9. Bruch 100 %.

Hi,
A little bit more about this loss. 4./J.G. 54 scrambled from Wesenberg at 04:40 and fought combat with six Il-2s and eight Yak-9s. Hptm. Eisenach reported one Il-2 shot down. They landed again at 05:10. Cheers, Andrew A. Air War Publications - www.airwarpublications.com
