a map to identify

dear all, this is a quizz:

1) this map was found in an aircraft crashed in the North of France (near Maubeuge). This map was showing the South of England and this attachment is an extract.

Was this map German or English ?

2) on the back it was written "MATERN": could this name "Matern" be the name of one the crew ?

3) Allegedly, it was in a German plane crashed in 1941 (not sure at all about these infos !). By chance, any match with a crash in the North of France ?

thanks for your tips

GC

Re: a map to identify

As the "Artillery Ranges & Danger Areas" are listed in English, I'll guess an English map.
