Id of 489th BS, 340th BG a/c ditched 9/10 Sep 1943
On the night of 9 September 1943, an a/c of 489th BS, 340th BG took off for an attack on the Grazzanise Landing Ground north of Naples. The raid was no succes and on the way back the a/c ran short of fuel and had to ditch. The crew survived. The captain was Decker.
I am trying to identify this a/c. Does anyone have an idea of how to move forvard? Regards Mikkel
