263 Sqn pilot, Parnall

Hi,

I'm trying to track down a Plt Off Parnall who served with 263 Sqn between April and May 1940.

The ORB gives a F C Parnall (21 April) and a G B Parnall (25 April). On 1 July 1940 Plt Off G B Parnall was posted to 607 Sqn.

I've trawled through the London Gazette and found three Parnall's but none have the initial G B.

I found:
Stuart Boyd Parnall 90844
Denis Geach Parnall 70522
Alan Geach Parnall 70521

Would I be correct to assume that Denis and Alan were brothers? According to the LG Alan went through the war and finished up a Wg Cdr. Denis was last listed on 29 Sept 1940 as a Flt Lt. Stuart was last listed on 24 April 1940 as a Plt Off.

In Aces High Vol 2 by Chris Shores Denis Geach may have served in Norway with 263 Sqn in May. He then went to 249 Sqn and was shot down and killed in September.

I also have it that Stuart went from 607 Sqn to 263 Sqn and back to 607 Sqn.

Any help in trying to solve this puzzle would be appreciated.

Regards,

Alex

Parnall was not listed in 263's orders for Norway dated 19 April 40

Hi Brian, Chris

Thanks for your inputs. I'll still keep looking into this and see if I can come up with anything else.
