Re: G-14/AS 780793 loss

Not sure why we talk about white 4....the NVM says literally;

Bf 109 G-6/AS, WNr. 780793, gelbe 4, 6./JG 27, Raum Arnheim
Fhr. Horst Schneider, geb. 13.11.1924, EM 68416/689, vermisst.

As far as I can see now he is still listed as MIA.

Thanks,

John

Re: G-14/AS 780793 loss

Hello Peter & John,

This is the reason why it's a little bit confusing (extract from LEMB StKz data base). Peter is guilty - he knows - but not that much 'cause he did so huge work for long that he must be forgiven!

In fact, as he wrote in his post upper we must read White 4 for 7./JG 53 source being B0469 and date of notice 22-8-1944.
For 6./JG 27 we have respectively D0079 and 26-9-1944.

Thanks anyway for your work Peter; I told you many times as you perfectly knows and until long-awaited-in-the-next-future-uptodate-publications it remains the (MY) main source of "inspiration"!

Thank you John for tha "Gelbe 4" indication, very useful. Note that Peglar is writing "Wounded".

My God! I cannot imagine how long it will takes if we have to check 35000 (around) numbers ... Life is so short! .

Cheers, Franck.
