From 210 Sqn History, To The Ends Of The Earth: ORB 10/8 (1942) 'AH559/N F/O (W.S.) Duffield*, Sgt Joe Corfield 2nd pilot, 11.49 N. Unst, s/c for Archangel. 01.12 landfall Rinda (Russian Lapland), 03.53/11 w/b L. Lakhta. 16.20 hrs . 'Navigator Ken Gay had a 'stooge', newly qualified 'O' George Adamson, who recalls three passengers as a Flight Lieutenant interpreter, Norwegian officer - Turner and two Norwegian civilians. Then 12/8 19:10 Lakhta to Grasnaya 3.20, followed by: '00:40 Grasnaya to Sullom 13 hours. * 1168337 F/O William Sydney DUFFIELD (69247). See: To The Ends Of The Earth - 210 Squadron's Catalina Years.
