Horst Sandkuhl JG77
I am looking for information regarding the above crash which happened on 24th Dec 1944 near Encherange in Luxembourg apparently the wreck of his ME 109 G was excavated some years ago, does anyone know anything about this ?

Hello Mike,
my dead father was also at the Stab II / JG77. Here are my information about Horst Sandkuhl: Fahnenjunker Unteroffizier Horst Sandkuhl Stab I / JG77 MIA at 24th of Dezember 1944 after airfight with P-38s and P-47s in Luxenburg area. Lost 100% Plane: Bf 109 G-14 Werk Nr. 512390 Markings: Black < 1 + New Plane equipment with Jägernotsteuerung Best wishes Rüdiger

Does anyone know if any excavation of aircraft in that area of Luxembourg has taken place in the last 15 years ? I am led to believe the engine from this particular aircraft was recovered approx 15 years ago
